PM Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron Jointly Inaugurate ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ in Nice, France

NICE, FrancePrime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President of France Emmanuel Macron jointly inaugurated ‘Bharat Innovates 2026’ at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, France today.

Bharat Innovates 2026, a three-day event, brings together Indian deep-tech startups, innovators, researchers, and investors, with innovation funding and influence that are globally active. Showcasing India’s leading deep technologies globally, the event showcases the achievements of 120 pioneering startups and over 20 research institutions across 13 critical technology pillars of global importance. More than 350 leading investors and venture capitalists from across the globe are also participating in the event.

Strengthening the India-France Strategic Partnership

Prime Minister Modi and President Macron addressed the gathering. The Prime Minister thanked President Macron for his gracious presence and noted that India and France are trusted partners working to address global challenges. In this context, they highlighted India-France initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance, as well as the joint initiatives of both countries to promote artificial intelligence and stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.

Throwing light on the ongoing celebration of the India-France Innovation Year, the Prime Minister said that ‘Bharat Innovates’ is another important milestone in the shared resolve of the two countries to work for global good. Mentioning India’s startup revolution as reflected in the deep-tech solutions showcased, the Prime Minister emphasized the transformative potential of AI and satellite technology for rural development, advanced manufacturing for sustainable living, and green hydrogen, battery technology and electric mobility for clean development.

A Visionary Call for Human-Centric Innovation

In this backdrop, he called upon the innovators, investors and entrepreneurs present at ‘Bharat Innovates’ to develop reliable, inclusive and human-centric technologies. He emphasized that entrepreneurial ventures should be evaluated not only on the basis of their market value, but equally on the basis of their impact on humankind. Noting that this is the core message of ‘Innovates India’, he invited the participants to partner with India to co-create the next era of global innovation.

The Prime Minister interacted with entrepreneurs and innovators in cutting-edge areas such as quantum computing, semiconductors, biotechnology, defence, space, healthcare, medical technology, advanced materials, clean energy and others. The leaders also took a tour of the exhibition and interacted with entrepreneurs and innovators in the areas of quantum computing, semiconductors, biotechnology, defense, space, healthcare, medical technology, advanced materials, clean energy, and other cutting-edge areas.

Driving the Global Tech Agenda

The ‘Bharat Innovates’ program underscores the Indian government’s steadfast commitment to transforming India into a global innovation hub in line with its vision of a developed India. It also highlights the critical importance of India-France cooperation in contributing to global technology.
