The recently concluded 72nd Miss World Pageant, held at the iconic HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, India, was a powerful reminder that this timeless event remains one of the most relevant and inspiring beauty pageants in the world. Since its inception, Miss World has championed the idea that beauty goes far beyond appearances — it is a celebration of intelligence, compassion, and purpose. Hyderabad, with its rich history and vibrant modernity, proved the perfect host for this prestigious global event. The HITEX Exhibition Centre was transformed into a stunning stage that blended tradition with cutting-edge production, showcasing India’s cultural warmth and hospitality to an international audience.
The journey was fiercely competitive. A total of 108 contestants from across continents gathered in Hyderabad, representing a kaleidoscope of cultures and stories. These remarkable women embody the spirit of #BeautyWithPurpose, dedicating themselves to social causes and humanitarian work that make a tangible difference. Indian television personality Sachiin Kumbhar and former Miss World 2016, Stephanie Del Valle, hosted the grand finale with elegance and charisma, guiding viewers through each nail-biting moment.
From the initial rounds, the field was narrowed to 40 quarterfinalists, followed by a rigorous selection of the Top 10 from each continental group. After fierce competition, the list boiled down to the Top 5, then Top 2, and finally, the crowning of Miss World 2025.
The journey to the crown is intensely competitive, with each contestant undergoing a series of rigorous rounds. These include the Head to Head Challenge, Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Talent, Sports, and Multimedia competitions — all designed to showcase the contestants’ charisma, intelligence, social commitment, and versatility.
India’s Nandini Gupta, who represented the country with poise and dedication, delivered a commendable performance at the 72nd Miss World pageant. However, despite her strong showing, she did not make it to the Top 8 in the continental stage, which ultimately narrows down to the Top 5 finalists.

The Victors Who Shone Brightest

Hasset Dereje Admassu (Ethiopia) – Awarded 1st Runner-Up, celebrated for her advocacy and leadership.
Maja Klajda – Named 2nd Runner-Up, recognized for her exceptional talent and grace.

Miss Asia and Oceania, Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand, had one of the most memorable moments of the evening when she was posed a thought-provoking question by actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood during the final round. He asked, “What has this journey taught you about truth and personal responsibility in shaping how stories are told?”
With poise and sincerity, Opal delivered a moving response that embodied the essence of the Miss World platform. She said, “Thank you so much for the question, and being here is the greatest opportunity I could ever have in life. One thing I’ve learned at Miss World is the responsibility we carry in how stories are perceived. I believe the most powerful thing we can do — not just me or the contestants, but everyone here — is to be someone others can look up to. No matter your age, your title, or your role, someone — a child, an adult, even your own parents — is always watching and learning from you. The best way to lead is to lead with grace in your actions. That’s the most meaningful gift we can give to those around us and to the world.”
Her heartfelt answer earned her thunderous applause and reflected the core values of #BeautyWithPurpose — it was a powerful reminder of the strength, purpose, and spirit of young women worldwide. With Julia Morley and global icons in attendance, the event underscored that true beauty shines brightest when it is paired with heart, purpose, and the desire to uplift communities.
As the crown passed to Suchata Chuangsri, the world embraced a new era of empowered global citizens ready to make a difference — proving that the legacy of Miss World continues to be one of hope, courage, and transformative impact.
