Dallas witnessed a spectacular fusion of Indian couture and philanthropy on October 3, 2026, as celebrated designer Rohit Verma presented his latest creations at the 14th Annual Silk Threads Charity Gala, “Tapestry of Dreams,” held at Hotel Indigo Irving – Las Colinas.
Presented by Silk Threads, the multi-brand designer store founded by Ruby Bhandari, the star-studded evening brought together fashion, culture and community — with Rohit Verma’s exquisite couture taking centre stage, all in support of #HungerMitao, an affinity group of the North Texas Food Bank working to close the hunger gap in North Texas.
The fashion show brought together fashion, culture and community, with Rohit Verma’s creations taking centre stage. Known for his distinctive approach to Indian couture, Rohit Verma blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary silhouettes, creating ensembles that reflect India’s rich textile and embroidery heritage. His richly textured designs feature intricate Zardozi, Aari and Gota Patti handwork, with textiles personally curated from artisan communities. His work has been worn by Bollywood stars, featured on red carpets and showcased on runways in India and internationally.
Speaking about the showcase, Rohit Verma said, “Fashion has always been a way for me to celebrate our rich Indian craftsmanship, culture and traditions. Being part of the Silk Threads Charity Gala and presenting my work for a cause that supports communities in need made this evening especially meaningful. I was delighted to bring my couture to Dallas and share this celebration of creativity, culture and giving back.”
The evening also highlighted the connection between fashion and giving back, with #HungerMitao, an affinity group of the North Texas Food Bank, serving as the gala beneficiary. All tickets, sponsorships, silent auction purchases and contributions made to the event supported the North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank as they worked to close the hunger gap in North Texas.

As the final ensemble left the runway, “Tapestry of Dreams” stood as a reminder that when fashion embraces purpose, it weaves far more than fabric — it weaves hope, one thread at a time.
