Indriya x Amit Aggarwal at Lakmé Fashion Week 2026: Where Light, Craft and Modern Indian Luxury Converge

There are runway moments that present fashion, and then there are those that redefine how we experience it. At Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI, Indriya—the fine jewellery maison by Aditya Birla Group—in collaboration with couturier Amit Aggarwal, unveiled Orizon, a showcase that felt less like a presentation and more like a study in modern Indian luxury.

Known for his unmistakable design language—where sculptural silhouettes meet engineered drapes and future-forward materiality—Amit Aggarwal brought a sense of architectural precision to the runway. Paired with Indriya’s luminous vocabulary of Polki and diamonds, the result was a seamless convergence of couture and high jewellery, where each element elevated the other in a quiet yet commanding dialogue.

Orizon unfolded not in statements, but in sensations. The opening frames were almost meditative—restrained diamond compositions catching the faintest glimmers of light, setting the tone for what would become a gradual, immersive build. As the showcase evolved, so did its intensity. Polki and gold emerged with greater presence, their traditional forms refracted through contemporary geometry, creating pieces that felt at once rooted and radically current.

Aggarwal’s garments mirrored this progression. Handloom textiles, vintage Banarasi weaves, and his signature mirrorwork were reimagined into sculptural forms that moved with intention. There was a tactile richness to the fabrics, yet nothing felt heavy. Instead, the silhouettes carried a sense of fluid strength—structured, but never restrictive. It is this balance that continues to define Aggarwal’s work, making it resonate far beyond the runway.

What distinguished Indriya’s presence within this narrative was its commitment to evolving heritage craftsmanship into something distinctly contemporary. The reinterpretation of Polki was particularly compelling—not just in design, but in technique. Advanced setting methods enhanced the way each stone interacted with light, allowing gemstones to appear almost suspended, radiating a soft, diffused brilliance.

A rich palette of tourmalines, tanzanites, sapphires, rubies, and South Sea pearls introduced depth and contrast, transforming each piece into an exploration of colour and luminosity. There was an intimacy in the detailing—layered compositions, refined finishes, and an attention to proportion that ensured every creation felt deliberate. This was jewellery not designed to simply adorn, but to be experienced—up close, in motion, and in light.

The narrative reached its crescendo in a series of looks that embraced luminosity in its fullest form—metallics softened, tones deepened, and silhouettes became more expressive. It was here that Orizon revealed its true essence: a reflection of the modern Indian woman, one who moves forward with clarity, confidence, and an inherent connection to her roots.

“Lakmé Fashion Week was a powerful canvas to express how Indriya is redefining Polki and diamond for a new era through design superiority and modern intent. Our jewellery presents a narrative where heritage is not a constraint, but a source of empowerment—one that allows tradition to evolve,” shared Sandeep Kohli, CEO, Indriya, Aditya Birla Jewellery.

“Bringing ‘Orizon’ to life was about capturing a moment of transformation. Working with Indriya allowed us to create a seamless dialogue between garment and jewellery, where both complemented one another to shape a unified narrative of evolution,” added Amit Aggarwal.

The evening found its most striking expression as Disha Patani took centre stage, embodying the spirit of Orizon in a look that merged sculptural couture with radiant jewellery. Her presence was not just a finale, but a culmination—bringing together the many layers of the showcase into a single, compelling image of contemporary Indian luxury.

In the end, what Orizon achieved was something far more enduring than spectacle. It created a space where craft met innovation, where heritage found new relevance, and where luxury was defined not by excess, but by intention. For a global audience increasingly drawn to authenticity and artistry, this was India—refined, reimagined, and unmistakably modern.
