A Story of Courage to Begin the New Year: Ikkis Set for January 1, 2026 Release

This New Year, audiences are invited to gift themselves a story of courage. Ikkis, releasing in cinemas on January 1, 2026, brings to the screen the extraordinary true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra — a name etched forever in the nation’s military history.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film continues his well-established strategy of choosing clarity over crowded release calendars — a move that previously worked in favour of films like Hindi Medium and Chhaava, both of which benefited from a strong, uncluttered theatrical run.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis marks his first foray into the war genre. Known for his mastery over tension and storytelling, Raghavan now turns his lens to a real-life saga of bravery, conviction, and sacrifice — offering audiences a deeply immersive and emotionally resonant cinematic experience.

Adding to the growing buzz, the final trailer of Ikkis has been receiving an outpouring of love from across the industry. Actor Sunny Deol recently shared an emotional reaction, saying “Love you papa” as he remembered his late father Dharmendra ji, lending a deeply personal and heartfelt note to the film’s journey ahead of its release.

As 2026 begins, Ikkis stands as a stirring reminder of courage, duty, and the spirit that defines a nation — making it a fitting watch to open the year with purpose and pride.

Ikkis releases in cinemas on January 1, 2026.

Catch the final trailer exclusively on the big screen in theatres this weekend.
