Eternity 2025 Film Review – Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner Shine in Feel-Good Afterlife Rom-Com

The upcoming romantic comedy Eternity, set to release in theatres across India on 28th November 2025, is a heartwarming exploration of love, choices, and the human emotions that transcend life and death. Directed by David Freyne, the film stars Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner, with memorable supporting performances from Da’Vine Joy Randolph, John Early, and Olga Merediz. At its core, Eternity is a story about the afterlife, where souls are given just one week to decide where to spend eternity. The narrative follows Joan, who is torn between her devoted husband and her first love, a poignant reflection on the enduring impact of relationships, memories, and the choices that define a lifetime.

The film opens with the elderly couple Joan (Betty Buckley) and Larry (Barry Primus) navigating the familiar tensions of long marriage, only for tragedy to strike during a family celebration. Larry awakens in the afterlife, rejuvenated in the body of his thirty-something self, discovering a vibrant world governed by choices and possibilities. As he encounters Anna (Da’Vine Joy Randolph), the charming AC (afterlife coordinator), clarity gradually emerges: the afterlife is far from black-and-white, and the emotions of joy, fear, sorrow, and love persist beyond mortal life.

The narrative beautifully intertwines humor, romance, and existential reflection, highlighting that even in death, human hearts remain tender, conflicted, and capable of deep connection. When Joan, rejuvenated and radiant, appears alongside Luke, her long-lost first love, the film celebrates the imperfect, yet profound nature of love, the bittersweet humor of reunion, and the tender choices that define us.

Eternity resonates as a feel-good rom-com with depth, reminding viewers that the afterlife, much like life itself, is full of color, emotion, and the humor of human folly. The performances of Elizabeth Olsen and Miles Teller bring warmth and relatability to the story, while Callum Turner’s portrayal of enduring first love adds a layer of poignant nostalgia. Director David Freyne masterfully balances comedy and introspection, delivering a cinematic experience that is both uplifting and reflective.

Watching Eternity was an absolute delight from start to finish. The film effortlessly blends humor, heartfelt romance, and existential reflection, making it a rare gem in modern cinema. We were completely immersed in the whimsical yet emotionally honest portrayal of the afterlife, the relatable struggles of love and choice, and the enchanting performances by Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner. It’s a film that leaves you smiling, laughing, and reflecting on the enduring power of human connections. For anyone looking for a feel-good, thought-provoking rom-com this year, Eternity is truly a must-watch.
