L’Oréal India announced the launch of its largest beauty skilling centre in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in the presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal. The centre is part of L’Oréal’s flagship “Beauty for a Better Life” program.
Spread across 4,267 sq. ft. at the CII North Mumbai Skill Centre, the facility is designed to train around 3,000 individuals annually in professional hairdressing, makeup artistry, and beauty services. The initiative aims to empower women from underserved communities by equipping them with industry-relevant skills and enabling sustainable livelihoods.
Marking a significant milestone in L’Oréal India’s 23-year journey, the company also unveiled its first socio-economic impact report. Aligned with the Government of India’s “Make in India” vision, 95% of L’Oréal products sold in the country are manufactured locally at its facilities in Chakan and Baddi. These plants also serve as global export hubs, supplying products to 25 international markets.
Over the past decade, L’Oréal has upskilled 3.3 million hairdressers and supported 42,000 women through its initiatives. A 2025 PwC study reports a 25x social return on investment, with beneficiaries seeing an average 44% increase in household income, reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusive growth and women empowerment.
