Having grown into a family where I was surrounded by top-notch people from the film fraternity, I always feel a sense of pride to be a part of the iconic Bollywood, a name tag which sits like a crown on the people of the Hindi film fraternity, an industry which has made the world sit up and take notice of it.
Through my own life’s journey, from Papa being part of the Ajanta Arts Production family (Papa was the first AD starting out with the Dutt family) to knowing the current future legends as Ranbir Kapoor (husband was a part of the core team with T-Series), I am extremely proud of this city for giving me so many lovable people who inspire.
My own working with CNN International, Al Jazeera, and other noted media houses have only put me in closer contact with the newsmakers and behind the scenes of this glorious industry. I am but indebted, and remain equally awed by the members of the fraternity.
Flipping through my old photo albums, dozens of pictures of the innocent Sanjay Dutt as a child and youth, his doe-like eyes gazing back at you, you feel an affinity for this guy who has travelled the length and breadth of life’s experiences and still stands tall. Sanjay Dutt – you are special to us.
And today a film which tells us your story comes through.
A special mention to Ranbir Kapoor who has stunned us all with the ease with which he has got into the skin of the character. The first looks, teaser, trailer, and song released all leave the fans and critics appreciating the efforts made to hone every nuance of the storytelling. Supporting cast played by Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Diya Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma Kohli deserve a mention too.
The banner delivering the best on Bollywood as Vinod Chopra Films, Rajkumar Hirani Films, and Fox Star Studio have collaborated on this megastar film. Masterclass Director Rajkumar Hirani at his best once again, with the screenplay written by himself and Abhijat Joshi . . . . . . ‘Sanju’ – the film is blessed indeed!
