IHCL’s amã Stays & Trails Arrives in Port Blair, Forging New Frontiers in Luxury Homestays

As the hospitality sector witnesses a massive shift towards experiential travel, amã Stays & Trails—the premium homestay portfolio under the aegis of the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL)—has announced a landmark signing in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Expanding IHCL’s diversified footprint across India’s most idyllic leisure spots, this strategic development introduces international standards of homestay living to the archipelago. Developed in partnership with Terra Rex Realty and Terra Rex Energy, the project brings together the essence of boutique luxury and local heritage in one of the country’s most pristine destinations.

Redefining Island Hospitality

The upcoming amã Stays & Trails, Port Blair will feature a cluster of ten beautifully appointed bungalows nestled in lush green surroundings, just a short walk from the tranquil Manjery beach. This new venture continues the rapid growth of the brand’s footprint, which currently stands at over 370 operational and pipeline bungalows across diverse settings across India — Maharashtra, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Pondicherry, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands among others.

The property is designed to provide guests with a distinct lifestyle proposition, celebrating the cultural, historical, and ecological facets of the archipelago.

Speaking on the strategic milestone, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, IHCL, said:

“As travel preferences continue to evolve towards experience-led stays, the homestay segment has emerged as a strong driver of growth. With a portfolio of over 370 bungalows across India, the expansion of amã Stays & Trails to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, marks the brand’s foray into the island destination reflecting our focus on building a diversified presence across leisure destinations. We are delighted to partner with Terra Rex Realty’s Abhishek Singh for this project.”

The development of the 10 bungalows will cost over Rs 100 crores without land, and the villas will be developed and sold to private owners by Terra Rex and managed by IHCL. This will create 8 to 10, both direct and indirect, jobs locally per villa.” He added

Signature amã Stays & Trails Amenities & Experiences

The property will blend the signature warmth of IHCL’s renowned service standards with state-of-the-art leisure and wellness facilities, which include:

  • Comprehensive Wellness: A fully equipped gym, specialized spa, along with dedicated meditation and yoga decks.
  • Tropical Excursions: Opportunities to snorkel through the turquoise waters or explore the region’s unique colonial and tribal heritage.
  • Culinary Heritage: A signature restaurant serving indigenous flavors and celebrating the local coastal cuisine.

The Visionary Partnership

This ambitious project is brought to life in collaboration with Mr. Abhishek Singh. One of India’s most distinctive public figures, the former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination on his first attempt in 2011. Having served the nation across consequential administrative postings for over a decade, Singh has built a dynamic identity at the intersection of governance, entrepreneurship, cinema, and social leadership.

Speaking on this collaboration, Mr. Abhishek Singh, Founder and Chairman of Terra Rex Realty and Terra Rex Energy, stated:

“We are delighted to collaborate with IHCL’s amã Stays & Trails on this project to bring these experiences to life for our guests. Port Blair, a historic town and the gateway to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, offers travelers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage.”

Slated for completion by the end of 2027, the amã Stays & Trails project in Port Blair is poised to become a highly sought-after asset in the real estate and tourism landscape. With the archipelago’s infrastructure booming and an ever-increasing influx of global tourists drawn to its pristine shores, this development meets the surging demand for premium, experience-led accommodations. Supported by escalating real estate values and the region’s expanding connectivity, the venture is set to be a highly lucrative prospect for investors while offering an unmatched lifestyle proposition for luxury travelers. With this signing, IHCL continues to diversify its leisure portfolio, leveraging destination-led growth and expanding into high-potential island and resort markets.
