As India approaches its 78th Independence Day, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in collaboration with IRCTC, is all set to launch a culturally immersive initiative that invites travelers to retrace the footsteps of the nation’s glorious freedom movement. The new “Swarnim Bharat Yatra” tourist train, operating under the Bharat Gaurav scheme, will depart from Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station on August 14, 2025, marking a special tribute to the spirit of patriotism and national pride.

This 9 nights/10 days all-inclusive tour promises an enriching experience through some of the most iconic historical and cultural landmarks across India. Next on the route is Pune, where guests can explore the Aga Khan Palace, a pivotal site in the Quit India Movement, and the spiritual haven of Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga. Travelers will then journey to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) to witness the grandeur of Ajanta and Ellora Caves—both UNESCO World Heritage Sites—alongside the sacred Ghrishneshwar Jyotirlinga.

The penultimate leg of the tour brings guests to Jhansi and Orchha, offering a deep dive into India’s valiant struggle for independence and its architectural legacy through visits to the Jhansi Fort, historic temples, and palaces of Orchha.
