RRP S4E Innovation Ltd and Optix Bulgaria Forge Strategic Defence Partnership to Boost India’s Electro-Optics Capabilities

~ MoU signals transfer of cutting-edge thermal technology to India under the Make in India initiative

In a landmark move aligned with India’s vision for self-reliance in defence manufacturing, RRP S4E Innovation Ltd, a rapidly growing Indian electro-optics firm, is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bulgaria-based Optix, a global leader in advanced electro-optics solutions.

The MoU, to be formalized today, marks a significant step towards technology collaboration and knowledge transfer in high-precision thermal systems. It will enable RRP S4E Innovation to integrate and adapt cutting-edge technologies into India’s defence ecosystem, with a focus on manufacturing the following advanced systems:

  • Ultra Lightweight Thermal Sights
  • Long-Range Surveillance Systems
  • Handheld Thermal Imagers (HHTIs)

Optix Bulgaria, known for its in-house R&D and globally field-tested products, brings decades of expertise to this collaboration. Their flagship innovation, Diana, has already proven to be a game-changer in the global market, with more than 300 thermal sights deployed at strategic installations.

Since its founding in 2018, RRP S4E Innovation Ltd has emerged as a key player in India’s defence tech landscape, backed by the Maharashtra Defence and Aerospace Venture Fund. Under the leadership of Amey Belorkar, the company has built scalable infrastructure to support indigenous defence innovation and empower MSMEs.

The company recently reported revenues of ₹61.58 crore, with strong profit margins and a clear roadmap for exponential year-on-year growth.

The announcement was made at a press event attended by senior leadership from Optix Bulgaria, including Mr. Georgy Kosturkov, Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Peter Bosnev, International Sales Manager; Mr. Yanko Filipov, Lead Designer for Thermal Devices; and Mr. Pencho Georgiev, R&D Engineer.

As India looks to ramp up domestic defence manufacturing, this Indo-Bulgarian alliance is poised to set a new benchmark in indigenous electro-optics capability, bringing best-in-class solutions to the frontlines while fostering international innovation and collaboration.
