Nita M. Ambani Pledges Free Screenings and Treatment for Over 100,000 Women and Children from Marginalized Communities as part of New Health Seva by Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital

·       Free screening and treatment for 50,000 children with congenital heart disease

·       Free screening and treatment of breast and cervical cancer for 50,000 women

·       Free cervical cancer vaccination for 10,000 adolescent girls

Smt. Nita M. Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, announced the launch of a New Health Seva Plan that prioritizes essential screenings and treatments for children, adolescent girls and women.  As part of this New Health Seva Plan, Smt. Nita M. Ambani has pledged free screening and treatment for congenital heart disease amongst 50,000 children, free screening and treatment of breast and cervical cancer amongst 50,000 women and free cervical cancer vaccination for 10,000 adolescent girls to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital.

Congenital heart disease presents a significant public health challenge in India, with substantial morbidity and mortality rates, affecting approximately 1 in 100 newborns. Concurrently, breast cancer is the most common cancer among Indian women, accounting for over 25% of all cancers in females. A recent study by ICMR revealed that patients diagnosed at a local stage have a 4.4-fold higher chance of surviving five years compared to those diagnosed at a distant stage, underscoring the importance of early diagnosis and treatment access. Furthermore, the estimated burden of cervical cancer in India for the year 2025 is projected to reach 1.5 million disability-adjusted life years, according to a study published on PubMed.
