In a groundbreaking collaboration between Lilavati Hospital and the renowned Mayo Clinic, USA, the first-ever Nursing Excellence Training Program’ (NETP) has been successfully concluded, setting a new benchmark in nursing education and care standards in India. Held from March 17-26, 2025, the program marked a significant milestone in advancing the skills of Indian nurses, aiming to elevate the standards of patient care across the nation.

The program, which trained 120 nurses, focused on critical care, operation theater (OT) nursing, and clinical leadership. By combining advanced medical knowledge with leadership development, NETP has equipped participants with the necessary skills to provide the highest level of patient care. The event concluded with a grand recognition ceremony held at Lilavati Hospital’s auditorium, where nurses were honored for their commitment to excellence in patient care.

Senior nursing advisors from Mayo Clinic, USA, joined trustees and dignitaries in the ceremony, where each nurse was awarded a certificate, a newly designed uniform, and the prestigious Mayo Clinic pin, symbolizing their readiness to uphold top-tier healthcare standards.

“We are immensely proud to have launched India’s first Nursing Excellence Training Program in collaboration with Mayo Clinic. This transformative initiative elevates nursing education in India, and at Lilavati Hospital, we remain committed to not only advancing medical care but also empowering healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient service,” said Mr. Prashant Mehta, Permanent Trustee, Lilavati Hospital.

Alongside the NETP, Lilavati Hospital’s SEWA (Service Equality for the Welfare of All) initiative continues to exemplify the institution’s commitment to social responsibility. Established in 1997 by Mrs. Charu Kishor Mehta, SEWA has positively impacted thousands through charitable healthcare programs. Notable projects include the ‘Roshni Cataract Camp,’ which has facilitated over 600 free cataract surgeries, and the upcoming Artificial Limb Camp on April 22, 2025, which will provide high-quality prosthetic limbs to 120 patients in need.

Through programs like these, Lilavati Hospital not only strives for excellence in patient care but also works tirelessly to make healthcare more accessible to underserved communities, fostering a healthier, more inclusive future for all.
