The first edition of Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon was announced in the presence of Bollywood celebrity Kiara Advani at an event held in Mumbai recently.
The popular American lifestyle footwear brand collaborated with the upcoming star who has endeared herself to the masses by her recent performances on screen, she invites the public to join the Walkathon, and walk of fitness.
The motive behind initiating the walkathon is to educate people about the benefits of walking. The walkathon consists of a 3-7 KM stretch open for all age groups. To be executed in October, thousands of participants to walk through the new financial hub of the Maximum city – Bandra Kurla Complex.
While announcing the very 1st edition of Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon, Rahul Vira, Chief Executive Office, Skechers South Asia Pvt. Ltd. said, “Walking one mile a day can burn up to 100 calories. Something as simple as a daily brisk walk can help you live a healthier life. By bringing in a wide range of walking shoes we want to inspire people and invoke the need to be on the move and stay fit, through which people would experience walking from a different perspective altogether.”
Present at the announcement, Kiara Advani who was delighted to be associated with Skechers Mumbai Walkathon shared her thoughts, “I make it a point to stay as active as possible on my feet. My comfortable sneakers are all I need. On days when my schedule is too hectic for me to make it to the gym, I make sure to take out at least half an hour and go for a walk. It can uplift your mood and make your day. I would want to encourage everyone to make walking a part of their fitness regime, and call out to each and every one of you to join the Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon to take the first step”.
The walkathon organized by Skechers India will be taking place on 7th October 2018 i.e. the ‘World Walking Day’ in the new financial hub of the Maximum city – MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex.
