‘Giulietta’ is Shilpi Gupta’s passionate ode to the world of romance, a world infused with passion, beauty, creativity, and music!
Shilpi Gupta Surkhab, a high-end womenswear label, presented her couture collection ‘A Poetic Ode to Giulietta by Shilpi Gupta’, with a fashion show at The Imperial, New Delhi.
The collection showcases Shilpi’s signature sense of luscious designs and classically beautiful sensibilities and presents an exclusive range varying from ballroom dresses to Indian couture.
Hosted by founder Shilpi Gupta, the musical evening was held with an opera and modern jazz performance, intermingled with a spectacular fashion show. The fabulous line up of artists included Kabuki Khanna for vocals, Sonal Sikka on the piano, base by Ekaterina Aristova, Pritam Ghoshal on the sarod and the flute by Omkar Prasanna.
‘Amorous, pure and innocent’ – Giulietta embodies the very essence of young beauty, fresh love and an ethereal aura of romanticism! Shilpi takes us through a poetic world of a beautiful young woman, as she goes through different emotions and a journey tangled with love, lust, trust, loyalty and finally, reaches the very essence of womanhood – as an empowered and strong female protagonist.
Giulietta’s life unfolds with three beautifully conceptualized acts. The first act with ballroom dresses portrays her innocence, freshness, vitality and the first flush of youth. The second act with the saris is about the romance and passion Giulietta feels when she meets Romeo. She is sexy, sensuous and seductive. The third act is where she discovers herself and emerges as a strong woman of today – self-assured and assertive. This is represented in the ‘Baroque’ collection. The jewellery has been specially designed for Giulietta by ‘Soranam by Sonia Malhotra’.
